I am interested in atmosphere-ocean interactions and their responses to climate change. I analyzed the Benguela upwelling system off southwest Africa and its atmospheric drivers as well as the impact of the Agulhas Current on the water masses in the Benguela upwelling region in high-resolution ocean simulations. Currently, I am working on precipitation patterns and variabilities and on how the Agulhas Current affects these atmospherics variations by use of CCLM regional atmosphere simulations over southern Africa and the adjacent oceans during the recent past and near future.
